Chapter History

History
Recognizing the need for a space in which women of color could come together and feel empowered, celebrate their culture, and work towards the advancement of their communities, 10 ladies founded the V.A.L.U.E. (Visionary Achieving Ladies of Uplifting Excellence) Chapter of the National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs, Inc. (NACWC, Inc), on the campus of Purdue University.
These ladies, later to be known as the 10 G.I.F.T.S., sought to further expand the mission and reach of the NACWC, while focusing specifically on the needs and experiences of women of color. The V.A.L.U.E. Chapter reflects the importance of representation and solidarity among women facing unique challenges and experiences.
The V.A.L.U.E. Chapter was officially chartered on August 22, 2022.
